Last year I documented Aniya’s mom maternity portraits and this year I got the opportunity to meet Aniya for her first birthday portraits. ⁣⁣⁣

Having full creative control of the shoot, I was able to put together some new ideas with colors that I love. The idea for the session was for her to simply be painting for her birthday photo shoot and have fall colored paint all over her outfit to coordinate with the scene. I decided to do the smash cake before she painted the #1 on her BOHO canvas. The smash cake idea was perfect so that she would have an energy boost right before painting. I was able to find everything that I needed in Hobby Lobby.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
